Mike Kraus is a Director and Senior Advisor at ipCapital Group with thirty years’ experience in Intellectual Property Strategy Development, Technology Transfer Programs, Licensing, Corporate Development, and teaching at the graduate level. Previously, Mike worked for Motorola, Inc. on a variety of projects including land mobile radio systems, telematics, advanced driver information systems and content delivery services as well as a technical advisor to a number of Motorola joint venture properties. He has extensive international business experience in Europe and Asia as well as hands-on operational experience in joint ventures and start-ups.

Mike was responsible for Motorola’s patent portfolio strategy, global IP awards & recognition, patent committee operations, training & mentoring as well as proprietary & standards-based licensing programs including the restart of three SEP licensing programs in the United States, Europe and China. He led Motorola’s IP strategy team during the patent portfolio allocation project related to Motorola, Inc.’s 2011 separation into two publically traded companies – the efforts of which resulted in Google’s acquisition of Motorola Mobility for $12.5Bn.

In 2015 Mike was appointed to the IAM Strategy 300 – The World’s Leading Strategists, a unique annual listing of individuals with an established track record of developing and rolling out world-class IP value creation programs. Mike holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University (Member of Beta Gamma Sigma), a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Degree from Royal Military College of Canada and is a Certified Licensing Professional. He is an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University’s School of Law teaching IP Strategy & Management in its Master of Science at Law program.
