Jens Hermans

Jens Hermans is an experienced professional in the fields of architecture and cryptography, currently serving as an Architect and Cryptography Expert at itsme® since October 2023 and as a Board Member at the Ministry of Privacy since January 2020. Jens co-founded nextAuth, where the focus was on providing secure and privacy-friendly mobile authentication until October 2023. Previous roles include a Researcher at KU Leuven for a decade, where Jens was also involved in the university's management as a member of the Academic Council and the Executive Committee for Science, Technology & Engineering. Additional contributions include board membership at ACCO cvba, student representation at LOKO, and educational coordination through VTK Leuven. Jens holds a PhD in Engineering from KU Leuven, completed in 2012.
