Colin Shaw

Colin Shaw, PE, MBA, is an experienced mining professional with a robust background in engineering and operations management. Currently serving as the Director of Underground Studies at Ivanhoe Electric since February 2023, Colin directs engineering studies aimed at promoting environmentally conscious mining practices, with a focus on the Santa Cruz deposit in Casa Grande, AZ. Previously, Colin held various leadership roles, including Operations Excellence Manager at U.S. Silica Company and Project Manager at Nordmin Group of Companies. Colin's career includes significant contributions at Rio Tinto, Stantec Consulting Services, Freeport-McMoRan, and other prominent mining companies, culminating in a wealth of expertise in mine engineering and planning. Colin holds an MBA from the University of Denver and a BS in Mining and Mineral Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno.
