Farzana Chowdhury is currently a board member at JAAGO FOUNDATION. Prior to that, they worked as an intern at Heinrich Böll Foundation North America from July 2018 to October 2018, where they conducted background research on topical issues and current events, prepared research for upcoming events, tours, and speaker's series, updated content on website and blogs, provided logistical support for preparation and implementation of visitor programs and events and managed contact and program-specific databases.
From August 2016 to July 2018, Chowdhury was a graduate assistant at Illinois State University, where they gained experience in conducting research and grading. During their time there, they conducted research on climate change and its impact on women in developing countries rural areas; Gender Balance in UN peacekeeping.
In March 2019, Chowdhury began working as a research officer at Development Resonance and then moved to Center for Natural Resource Studies(CNRS) as a research & monitoring officer in August 2014, where they worked until July 2016. Her responsibilities included conducting field visits to observe natural resource use and management practices, collecting quantitative and qualitative data through interviews and focus group discussions with key stakeholders, analyzing collected data using SPSS and Excel, presenting findings to the project team, writing reports and preparing presentations.
Chowdhury started their career as a research assistant at Nielsen in September 2010, where they worked until February 2011. During their time at Nielsen, they were responsible for conducting market research
Farzana Chowdhury has a Master's degree in International Relations and Affairs from Illinois State University. Farzana also has a Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations and Affairs from University of Dhaka. Lastly, they have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting Information System from United International University.
