Karen Wickwire

Karen Wickwire currently serves as the Assistant Manager at Johnson County Library, a position held since December 2022. Prior to this role, Karen was the Merchandise Manager at Michaels Stores from June 2021 to December 2022. Karen has extensive library experience, having worked at Mid-Continent Public Library from November 2005 to September 2018 in various capacities, including Technical Services Manager and Inter-Library Loan Department Manager, with a focus on managing external loan processes using OCLC FirstSearch. Earlier roles included Assistant Branch Manager and Librarian Assistant I. Karen holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Arts in Library Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife & Fisheries Management from Kansas State University, alongside additional education in Marine and Freshwater Biology. Karen's leadership training was further enhanced at the Pryor Center for Leadership Development at William Jewell College.
