Tyra Perkins

Tyra Perkins is a dedicated Laboratory Technician at Georgia State University since January 2023, where responsibilities include managing chemical inventory, facilitating chemical pick-up and transportation, and overseeing hazardous waste disposal in a CURE research laboratory. As the Region 4 Webmaster for the Student National Medical Association since August 2022, Tyra engages in digital outreach and support for members. Prior experience includes a Summer Research Student position at the College of Southern Nevada, where Tyra developed laboratory skills through data analysis, pipetting, and fieldwork to collect plant samples, as well as serving as a Test Specialist at Curative, administering Covid-19 tests and ensuring safety through proper PPE use. Tyra is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a Pre-Med focus at Georgia State University, building upon an Associate of Science degree in Biology from the College of Southern Nevada.
