Shane McDonald is an accomplished flavor chemist with extensive experience in the food industry, particularly in savory flavors and dairy products. Currently serving as Principal Flavor Chemist at Kalsec since October 2007, Shane specializes in creating new savory flavors, reaction flavors, and spice extracts, and has successfully led the GRAS approval process for Szechuan oleoresin. Prior roles include Senior Flavor Chemist at Kalsec, Flavor Chemist at Fontana Flavors, and Dairy Flavor Chemist at Edlong Flavors, among others. Shane has a solid educational background, holding a PhD in Food Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University, and both MS and BS degrees in Dairy Science from South Dakota State University.
