Thomas Morales

Thomas Morales has been the head engineer at KCPR, a radio station based in California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, since October 2012. Prior to that, they served as an interim equipment system specialist for the college's journalism department and as a staff news videographer at KOAA-TV in Pueblo, Colorado.

Morales began their career in 1991 as a production staff member at Northern Arizona University's IITV and TV Services. Thomas later interned at KEYT NewsChannel 3, KKFX, and KCOY Central Coast News before becoming head engineer at KCPR.

Throughout their career, Morales has been committed to mentoring and coaching journalism students through the mantra of "Learn by Doing." Thomas has also played a key role in specifying and recommending improvements and upgrades to enhance student learning.

Thomas Morales earned their Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Communications from Northern Arizona University.
