Makalah Brown

Makalah Brown is an accomplished events professional with extensive experience across various organizations. Currently serving as the Events Director for KERA – North Texas Public Broadcasting since August 2023, Makalah previously held the position of Director of Events at United Way of Metropolitan Dallas from March 2022 to August 2023. Prior roles include Events Manager at the Dallas Zoo, Director of Sales & Marketing, and Sales & Event Coordinator at Monmouth Historic Inn & Gardens, Director of Historic Properties at Pilgrimage Garden Club, Deputy Director at Walter Anderson Museum of Art, and Graduate Student Coordinator at Savannah College of Art and Design. Makalah holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and American Studies from The University of Southern Mississippi, earned between 1997 and 2002.
