Brett E. Williams was appointed to the Killeen Independent School District Board of Trustees in November of 2018 to fill the position of Place 5, which had been vacated by Carlyle Walton. After his appointment, he was successfully elected in 2019 to complete the remaining term of Place 5. In 2020, he was re-elected to a three-year term that will expire in May of 2023.
Mr. Williams has compiled a professional career in public service that spans 25 years. He is currently the executive director of a nonprofit organization that provides after-school and summer programming for youth. The organization also provides youth athletic opportunities in basketball and volleyball.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Williams served the City of Killeen in the role of executive director of community services. His career with the City of Killeen spanned 21 years. During his tenure with the City of Killeen, Mr. Williams oversaw a community services department that provided services in the areas of parks, recreation, public grounds, recreation center, community center, golf course, senior centers, aquatic center, and cemetery. Prior to becoming executive director of community services, he held the positions of public information officer, athletic superintendent, and director of parks and recreation with the City of Killeen.
