Maurizio Pesce currently serves as the Chairman of the Department of Cell Biology at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center since January 2024. In addition, Maurizio has been a Collaboratore a contratto and Group Leader at Centro Cardiologico Monzino since March 2001, focusing on tissue engineering, stem cells, mechanobiology, valve pathology, vessel engineering, and epigenetics. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Scientist in cardiovascular regenerative medicine and an Associate Research Scientist at Università di Roma Tor Vergata, where research concentrated on germ cell biology. Maurizio began a postdoctoral fellowship at EMBL in January 1996, investigating transcriptional regulation of totipotent cells. Educational qualifications include a Laurea in Scienze Biologiche from Sapienza Università di Roma, a Dottorato di ricerca in Embriologia Medica from University of Rome Tor Vergata, and ongoing doctoral studies in Bioengineering at Politecnico di Torino.
