Josh Barer

Josh Barer is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor with extensive experience in the life sciences sector. As the Founder and Managing Director of Sunflower Life Sciences since 2016, Barer has focused on assisting mission-driven companies to innovate for better patient outcomes. In 2020, Barer co-founded and became the CEO of Hibiscus Capital Management, a venture fund dedicated to addressing significant unmet medical needs. Barer also co-founded Barer & Son Capital, the venture arm of the Barer Family Office, specializing in life sciences investments. Additional roles include serving as an Advisor at KOIOSTech, a Venture Advisor for the Israel Biotech Fund, and holding board positions at Family Promise, Inc. and previously at Trickle Up. Barer has a strong academic background from Drew University, Rutgers University, and the University of Haifa.
