Erik Ph. G. Solberg

Erik Ph. G. Solberg is a seasoned professional in foreign affairs and emergency preparedness, currently serving as a Senior Advisor at Utenriksdepartementet since May 2019, focusing on future readiness for the Norwegian Foreign Service. Previous roles include Trade Negotiator at the Norwegian permanent mission to WTO and EFTA, and Director of Security and Emergency Preparedness Policy at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where Erik made significant contributions to national security law evaluations and oversight. Erik has held various leadership positions, including Head of the MoFA Crises Management Team and Director roles at the Norwegian Government Security and Service Organization and the Norwegian Government Administration Services. Erik’s extensive career began in 1992 at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with involvement in trade-related issues and international policy. Erik holds a Master's Degree in Law from the University of Oslo and has furthered education through programs such as the World Bank Open Learning Campus and HarvardX.
