Frode Overland Andersen

Frode Overland Andersen is the Director General for the Department for Europe and International Trade at Utenriksdepartementet, a position held since August 2022. Andersen also serves as a Special Advisor for the EU and Green Transition and has previously worked as an Ambassador at the Norwegian Embassy in Athens from July 2019 to August 2022. Prior roles include Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway and Director of Communications for the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where responsibilities included serving as spokesperson. Andersen's career features extensive experience in communications, security policy, and international relations, with significant contributions in various capacities since joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1999, supported by an educational background in Comparative Politics and Sociology from the University of Bergen and other institutions.
