Heljar Havnes

Heljar Havnes is currently an Aspirant and Foreign Service Trainee at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since September 2023. Prior experience includes serving as Communications Manager for Group Strategy and External Relations at Telenor from November 2019 to September 2023, and an internship at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs in June 2018. Previous roles also encompass journalism at Dagens Næringsliv from May 2013 to July 2017 and an internship as a Commercial Officer at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Riyadh. Heljar Havnes began a career in journalism as a journalist and online editor for Universitas from August 2011 to May 2013. Education includes a Master’s degree in International Relations and Affairs from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (2017-2019) and a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Oslo (2011-2017).
