Mark Justine Zapanta

Mark Justine Zapanta is an accomplished researcher with extensive experience in the fields of biophotonics and analytical chemistry. Currently a PhD Researcher at KU Leuven's MeBioS-Biophotonics Group since March 2020, Mark also serves as a PhD Fellow for Strategic Basic Research with Research Foundation Flanders until October 2024. Previous roles include R&D Engineer at Axel'One and Chemist at San Miguel Brewery Inc., where analytical support and physicochemical analyses were provided. Academically, Mark holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Bioscience Engineering from KU Leuven, and has completed master's degrees from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and the University of Tartu, along with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of the Philippines, graduating with honors.
