David Clark is a leader in the media and technology arena, with deep experience as both a startup founder and corporate leader. He currently serves as President of The Weather Channel and oversees all aspects of strategy, product, content, marketing, sales and operations.
Since joining The Weather Channel in 2012, he has overhauled virtually every aspect of the business, repositioning it for a changing media environment. This includes focusing the brand and programming lineup, accelerating digital video production, and modernizing its operations and underlying technology. In David’s time at the company The Weather Channel has, for the first time in its history, won many of the media industry’s most prestigious awards, including The Governors Award for Excellence from The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, The George Polk Award for Excellence in Television Journalism, and 17 Promax Nominations for excellence in design and marketing.
Prior to The Weather Channel, David was General Manager of the music network and digital platform Fuse (part of The Madison Square Garden Company) which he led through an extensive turnaround. Prior to Fuse he was a founder of Joost, and an online video platform started with the founders of Skype and backed by Sequoia Capital, Index Ventures and CBS. Prior to that he led MTV Network’s Global Marketing Partnerships group in New York. David now lives in Atlanta with his wife Kyle and two sons.
He serves as an officer on the board of Big Big/Big Sisters, is a ‘Big” himself, and is an avid traveler and photographer.
