Ruwanka Purasinghe

Ruwanka Purasinghe, PE, has extensive experience in civil engineering, currently serving as a Civil Engineering Associate at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power since 2013. Ruwanka held leadership roles within the American Society of Civil Engineers, including President of the Metro LA Branch from 2020 to 2021 and President of the LA Younger Member Forum from 2017 to 2018. Additionally, Ruwanka contributed to academia as a Lecturer for Soil Mechanics 1 at California State University-Los Angeles from 2016 to 2019, and completed an Engineering Intern role at LA Sanitation & Environment from 2011 to 2013. Ruwanka earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Davis, and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from California State University, Los Angeles.
