Kristine Valko

Kristine Valko is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in compliance, auditing, and risk management. Currently serving as the Head of Department at Latvijas Banka since January 2023, Kristine previously held the position of Director of the Market Participants Audit Department at the Financial and Capital Market Commission from January 2021 to January 2023. Kristine's background includes significant roles at SEB banka Latvia, where responsibilities ranged from Baltic IT Finance and Risk Officer to Compliance Officer and Leading Internal Auditor, reflecting a strong expertise in regulatory compliance and internal audits. Kristine began their career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, progressing from Auditor's Assistant to Assistant Manager. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Social Sciences from Latvijas Universitate and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Affairs. Kristine is also a member of ACCA, having completed studies from 2005 to 2013.
