Sonja Stewart

Sonja Stewart serves as the Chairperson and Board Member of the GO Foundation - The Goodes O'Loughlin Foundation since September 2018. Stewart holds the position of Director at Lawcover and is a Foundation Ordinary Member at The College of Law Australia, both since September 2020. Previously, Stewart was the Chief Executive Officer of The Law Society of NSW from August 2020 to October 2023, and Committee Chair at Rugby Australia from September 2021 to July 2023. An interim Chief Executive Officer at Arrilla Indigenous Consulting from February 2020 to August 2020, Stewart led significant initiatives as Deputy Secretary for Social Policy and Operations and Engagement at the Department of Premier and Cabinet (NSW) between November 2015 and July 2019. Experience also includes leadership roles on various boards such as the Lord Howe Island Board and the NSW Public Service Commission. Stewart's educational background includes advanced management and leadership training from Columbia Business School and degrees in law and business from several universities.
