Sue Lain

Sue Lain has extensive experience in the legal field, having served as a member of Lawyers of Distinction since April 2021. Previously, Sue was the owner of a boutique law firm specializing in family law, criminal defense, and civil litigation from May 2005 until retirement in December 2023. Sue also held positions as a pro tem judge for the City of Hillsboro, where responsibilities included hearing traffic violations and city code cases, and as an attorney at Draneas & Huglin, P.C., focusing on contested probate issues. Prior to this, Sue was a shareholder at Buckley Law PC, continuing to emphasize family law while handling a range of legal matters. Early career experience includes serving as a Deputy District Attorney at the Washington County District Attorney's Office, where prosecution encompassed serious crimes and juvenile cases. Sue held leadership roles at the Washington County Bar Association and has a Juris Doctor degree from Lewis & Clark Law School, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Philosophy from Willamette University.
