Colin Farrell

Colin Farrell is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the development and management of advanced instrumentation. Currently serving as the League Certified Instructor for the League of American Bicyclists since July 2018, Colin also held the position of Director of Engineering at the Allen Institute for Brain Science from January 2014 to June 2024, where responsibilities included supporting scientific missions through the design and implementation of high-performance tools. Prior to this, Colin was the Director of Engineering at Bruker Nano, Inc., leading the development of metrology instruments utilized globally across various labs. Earlier roles included Principal Systems Engineer and Engineering Project Manager at Veeco Instruments, and Software Engineer at Wyko Corp. Colin obtained a PhD in Physics from the University of Aberdeen and a BSc in Laser Physics and Optoelectronics from the University of Strathclyde.
