Heidi Y. Hu ’85 received a BS in economics from Lewis & Clark College and earned her MBA from the University of Chicago. She is a community volunteer and is retired from Transamerica Investment Management, LLC. Ms. Hu joined Transamerica Investment Management, LLC in 1998 where she was principal, managing director, and portfolio manager, serving as the lead manager of mutual funds, sub-advised funds, and institutional accounts in the balanced and fixed income disciplines. Prior to her employment with Transamerica, she was a portfolio manager for ARCO Investment Management Company.
Ms. Hu is a former board member for the nonprofit Friends of Trees, having served two terms from 2011 to 2017. Based in Portland, Friends of Trees works to increase tree canopy, restore green spaces, and build community. She is a former board member for Opal Creek Ancient Forest Center, a Portland-based nonprofit founded in 1989 as Friends of Opal Creek, having served two terms from 2008 through 2014. The organization was formed to gain the protection of the Opal Creek watershed and to promote conservation through educational experiences.
