John E. Welsh III

Mr. Welsh has been a director of Liberty Broadband Corporation since November 2014. He has served as the President of Avalon Capital Partners LLC, an investment firm, since 2002. Mr. Welsh has served as a director of General Cable Corp. since 1997 and Chairman of the Board since August 2001. He served as a director of CIP Management LLC from October 2000 to December 2002, and as Managing Director and Vice-Chairman of the Board of SkyTel Communications, Inc. from 1992 to 1999. Prior to 1992, Mr. Welsh was Managing Director of Investment Banking of Prudential Securities, Inc. and Co-Head of the Mergers and Acquisitions Department. While at Prudential Securities, Inc., Mr. Welsh advised a number of clients in the cable industry, including Turner Broadcasting, the Financial News Network and the founder of ESPN. Mr. Welsh previously served as a director of Spreckels Industries, Inc., York International, Inc. and Integrated Electrical Services Corp.
