Kelly Alves

Kelly Alves, EdD, serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Mount Olive since January 2020, while also working as a Methodologist and Adjunct Instructor at Liberty University since September 2020, and an Adjunct Instructor at Austin Peay State University since August 2021. Prior to these roles, Kelly was the Director at New Independence Academy from August 2014 to December 2021, overseeing special education instruction for students with high-functioning autism and managing daily operations. Between June 2004 and August 2014, Kelly directed Sylvan Learning Goldsboro, focusing on students with autism spectrum disorder, and previously held the position of Director of Education within Sylvan Learning Centers from August 2002 to August 2014. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, a Master of Arts in Applied Psychology, a Master’s degree in Special Education and Teaching, a Graduate Certificate in Autism Education, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, all from Liberty University and Tennessee Technological University.
