Laurenz Sommerlad

Laurenz Sommerlad is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in software engineering, machine learning, and venture leadership. Currently serving as the Head of Venture Department at TUM.ai, Laurenz leads a cross-functional team in organizing a 14-week AI startup incubator, while also holding roles as a Machine Learning Researcher at LMU Klinikum München and a Robotics & Machine Learning Engineer at WARR, where contributions include developing an Autonomous Mars Rover. Previous experience includes software engineering positions at Cegeka and WeAreGroup GmbH, where Laurenz enhanced productivity and implemented modern technologies. Laurenz co-founded MyPotato and possesses a solid educational foundation with ongoing studies toward a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems at the Technical University of Munich.
