Tom Buchholz

Thomas Buchholz serves as the Chief Scientific Officer and Corporate Senior Vice President and Medical Director at Scripps MD Anderson Cancer Center since April 2018. Buchholz is also a board member at Nucleix Ltd., Empyrean Medical Systems, and the Rancho Sante Fe Foundation, and has been on the Board of Trustees at Bucknell University since July 2020. Prior to these roles, Buchholz held multiple key positions at MD Anderson Cancer Center from 1997 to 2017, including Executive Vice President and Physician in Chief, Provost and Executive Vice President, and Division Head of Radiation Oncology. Buchholz's military service includes a role as a Major and Radiation Oncologist in the United States Air Force from 1993 to 1997. Educational background includes an MD from the University of Washington - School of Medicine and a BA in Philosophy from Bucknell University.
