Dr. Catherine Hogel is an accomplished medical professional and leader in the arts, currently serving as Chair, Trustee, Director, and Vice Chairman of the London Philharmonic Orchestra since May 2008. In addition, Dr. Hogel has held the position of Director at the Colburn School of Performing Arts since 2011 and is an Honorary Board Member at the Royal Opera House since 2014. Previous experience includes a medical career with the NHS from 2006 until November 2023, and serving as a Board Member for Awards for Young Musicians from 2011 to 2014. Dr. Hogel has a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from St George's, University of London, an MSc in Counseling Psychology from London Metropolitan University, and a BSc in Psychology from Durham University. Early career experience includes working as a Research Assistant at Harvard University and as a Junior Research Scientist at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Education includes attendance at Wellington College and St George’s School, Edinburgh, as well as the International School of Helsinki.
