Amanda Harrington Ph.D.

Professor, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at Loyola University Chicago

Amanda Harrington, PhD, D(ABMM), is a distinguished academic and medical professional with extensive experience in microbiology and laboratory medicine. Since October 2016, Amanda serves as both a Professor and Associate Professor in the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine department at Loyola University Chicago, while also holding the positions of Medical Director and Associate Medical Director of the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory at Loyola Medicine. Prior to this, Amanda was the Director of the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory and an Assistant Professor in Pathology at UI Health from August 2013 to September 2016. Amanda's career includes significant roles at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System as Assistant Director of Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostics. Amanda earned a PhD in Microbiology from The University of Kansas and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Microbiology at the University of Washington.
