Biography

Samie R. Jaffrey is a Scientific Advisor and Co-Founder at Lucerna. Samie was previously a Postdoctoral Fellow at Columbia University Medical Center, where they studied mRNA splicing and its role in regulating neuronal protein diversity and synapse formation. Samie was also a Jane Coffin Childs Fellow at the JANE COFFIN CHILDS MEMORIAL FUND FOR MEDICAL RESEARCH from 2007 to 2010. Jaffrey received their PhD from Weill Cornell Graduate School in 2006, where they studied RNA trafficking and the role of local protein synthesis played in axon guidance and spinal cord injury.

Dr. Samie R. Jaffrey received their B.S. in Pharmacy from Rutgers University and their Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University.
