Jared Friesen

Jared Friesen is an experienced electrical engineer and renewable energy specialist with a robust background in solar project engineering and electric vehicle infrastructure. Currently serving as the Director of Solar Project Engineering at Lumen Energy since October 2024, Jared previously held roles such as the EV Infrastructure Lead at Tetra Tech and the EV Infrastructure Solutions Architect at Voltera, where responsibilities included leading strategies for power distribution and active load management. Early career positions include Senior Electrical Engineer/Renewables at Tetra Tech, where significant contributions were made to utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects, as well as a long tenure at Morrissey Engineering managing architectural and power-intensive projects. Additional experience includes roles focused on designing specialized healthcare facilities and aviation infrastructure. Jared holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and continues to advance knowledge through studies at Solar Energy International.
