Philip Vergauwen

Philip Vergauwen is a distinguished academic currently serving as a Professor at Universiteit Maastricht since April 2024. Previously, Philip held prominent roles at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics from September 2013 to September 2024, including Chairman of the Advisory Board UNU-MERIT and Dean. Philip also served as Dean at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management from January 2018 to September 2021, and as Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics at Universiteit Hasselt from April 2007 to July 2010. Philip's early contributions include serving as Chair of the University Council at Universiteit Maastricht from September 2003 to August 2004. Philip holds a PhD in Economics (Industrial Organisation) from KU Leuven, as well as Master’s degrees in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science and KU Leuven.
