Vasant Nair

Vasant Nair currently serves as the Fleet Group Manager at A.P. Moller Maersk since March 2014, and previously held the position of Senior Director of Technical Management and Services at Maersk Line, Limited from January 2017 to September 2024. Nair has extensive experience in the maritime industry, having worked as General Manager at Eagle Ship Management, LLC from July 2011 to March 2014, and as Surveyor in Charge and Senior Surveyor at Lloyd's Register from June 2002 to July 2011. Earlier in their career, Nair served as a Marine Engineer for various shipping companies from January 1986 to November 1994, where Vasant advanced to the role of Chief Engineer. Nair holds an M.S. in Maritime Management from Maine Maritime Academy, earned between 1993 and 1994, and has a background that includes education from Mazagon Docks Ltd, Don Bosco High School, and Wilson College, Mumbai.
