Dr. Kathryn Beal is a board-certified radiation oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She is chief of the brain tumor service within the Department of Radiation Oncology at MSKCC where she trained as a resident and has been on staff for more than 15 years. Dr. Beal received her BA from Harvard College, then received her medical degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University, and completed her residency in Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center where she was also elected Chief Resident.
Following residency, Dr. Beal joined the staff at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and is now the director of the brain tumor program in the Department of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Beal has published and presented several original studies that demonstrate a change in response and improved outcomes in patients treated with the combination of SRS and immunotherapy and has become a leader in this emerging field.
Prior to her medical career, she worked in healthcare management consulting, primarily focusing on hospital operations.
