Somer Phegley

Somer Phegley serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Fiscal Services Director at the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) since June 2019, overseeing a budget exceeding $45 million and managing large-scale projects in human services, transportation, and environmental planning. Prior to MAG, Somer held the position of Statewide Senior Accountant and Business Analyst for the State of Arizona, where significant contributions included leading a multimillion-dollar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation. Experience also includes an accounting role at Rutgers University, managing grant and contract administration for over $38 million annually, and an earlier accounting position at Arizona State University. Somer Phegley holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and a Master of Arts in Women's and Gender Studies from Rutgers University.
