Heather Bruce

Heather Bruce is a seasoned researcher with extensive experience in molecular biology and developmental techniques, currently serving as a Research Associate at the Marine Biological Laboratory since June 2018, where responsibilities include facilitating learning in advanced molecular and imaging techniques. Previously, Bruce held the position of Research Scientist at UC Berkeley from August 2010 to June 2018, leading a significant independent research project that integrated CRISPR-Cas9 data to elucidate leg patterning systems among arthropods. Additionally, Bruce has mentored numerous graduate and undergraduate students and has contributed to various teaching roles in courses focused on embryology and arthropod systems. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from UC Berkeley and a B.S. in the same field from the University of Arizona.
