Sam Lord

Sam Lord is an experienced Course Manager for the Physiology Course at the Marine Biological Laboratory, overseeing course organization and managing research supplies since June 2022. As a Fluorescence Microscopy Specialist at UCSF/HHMI, Sam has been integral to Dyche Mullins' lab since October 2013, focusing on the optimization and maintenance of optical microscopes. Previous roles include consulting for Safe-h2o.net, where Sam developed image analysis algorithms, and serving as a Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Berkeley. Academic training includes a PhD in Chemistry with a focus on Chemical Physics from Stanford University, along with a BS in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Sam's early research experience began as an Undergraduate Research Assistant and a Summer Research Fellow at Stanford, complemented by volunteer service as an Emergency Medical Technician.
