Harvey J. Anderson II, Eng ’84, was elected to the Marquette University Board of Trustees in 2022.
He is recently retired from serving as strategic advisor for HP Inc., where he had previously served as chief legal officer and corporate secretary. Harvey joined HP in June 2017 as deputy general counsel, Personal Systems, 3D Printing, Global Functions and Government Relations. He has more than 25 years of experience in legal affairs, public policy, corporate/commercial transactions and intellectual property litigation. He has counseled leading global internet, security and communications companies in private and public company settings.
Before joining HP, he served as the chief legal officer of AVG Technologies, and before that he spent six years as the general counsel and chief legal officer of Mozilla Corp. Harvey has a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Marquette University and a juris doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law. He is also admitted to the U.S. Patent Bar. He serves as a board member for Common Sense Media.
In 2021, Harvey received the Marquette Alumni Association Professional Achievement Award.
