Richard Wicka

Richard Wicka serves as an Independent Director at Marshfield Clinic Health System since April 2024 and holds the position of AVP, Associate General Counsel Regulatory and Risk at National Guardian Life Insurance Company since January 2023. Prior experience includes serving as Chief Legal Counsel at the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance from February 2019 to February 2023 and as Deputy Chief Legal Counsel from January 2012 to February 2019. Richard's legal career includes a role as Staff Attorney at the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals from March 2008 to January 2012, as well as Associate Attorney positions at Hanson Peters Nye and Simpson & Deardorff between 2002 and 2007. Richard began legal training with a Summer Associate role at Foley & Lardner LLP in 2001 and a Legal Intern position at the Wisconsin Department of Justice in 2000. Richard earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School and a Bachelor of Science in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
