Marco De Polo heads the strategic insights and open innovation function at Roche Diabetes Care. Over the past few years, Marco established Roche’s customer opportunity portfolio across patients, healthcare professionals and payers and established a lean strategy process that enabled the franchise teams to develop and validate their growth strategies. Most recently, Marco’s team introduced and built up an internal accelerator program to validate strategic growth initiatives as well as building up the newly created open innovation function to further accelerate the value creation process in searching for customer value and business growth.

Prior to his current role, Marco held various positions at Roche in the R&D organization in Switzerland and Germany developing and launching medical devices. He spent six years in San Francisco, building up Roche’s incubator team with the objective to identify new growth opportunities and developing new business models targeting the T2 Diabetes epidemic. His areas of expertise include insights discovery, customer opportunity development, lean strategy, medical product development, lean innovation, organizational development and mentoring.
