Tony Kulesa is a Partner at Pillar VC since October 2021 and Co-Founder of Petri since June 2019. Previously, Kulesa served as an Instructor and BioMakerspace Director at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from September 2018 to June 2019, where Kulesa created a new BL2 laboratory space for student-driven projects in life sciences and developed workshops in biotechnology entrepreneurship. Kulesa co-founded and directed BiomedStartup, a short-course program from September 2016 to June 2019 that guided teams from MIT and Harvard in commercializing innovative research. From September 2016 to September 2018, Kulesa acted as an Ambassador for Breakout Labs, facilitating startup applications for a non-profit venture philanthropy. Kulesa completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biological Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Math, and Chinese from Rutgers University.
