Scott Herman

Scott Herman is a Strategic Advisor at Maxar Technologies and a Venture Advisor at Cultivation Capital, where responsibilities include supporting startup selection and investment recommendations within the geospatial VC portfolio. With extensive experience in the New Space, Earth Observation, and National Security industries, Scott has served as a Strategic Advisor, Board Advisor, and Mentor for various startups and venture funds since September 2020. Highlights of Scott's career include the role of CEO at Cognitive Space, where leadership focused on satellite ground segment platform development, and serving as Chief Technology Officer at BlackSky, leading numerous software development initiatives. Previous positions include VP of Product Development at both Maxar Technologies and VisualCV, and Chief Information Officer at webMethods. Scott holds a Master's degree in IT Program Management from The George Washington University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland.
