Leroy Barnes Jr.

Leroy Barnes Jr. has been a director of McClatchy since September 2000.

Barnes is the retired vice president and treasurer for PG&E Corporation, a position he held from 2001 to 2005. From 1997 to 2001, Barnes was vice president and treasurer of Gap, Inc. Prior to that, Barnes held various executive positions with Pacific Telesis Group/SBC Communications. Earlier in his career, Barnes was a consultant at Touche Ross & Co., a predecessor of Deloitte & Touche.

Barnes received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Stanford University and his MBA from Stanford Business School. Barnes is also a member of the boards of directors of Frontier Communications, Inc., Principal Funds, Inc. and Principal Variable Contracts, Inc.
