The Research Associate, Reimbursement, Health Economics, and Market Access, will be a critical member of MCRA's Reimbursement, Health Economics, and Market Access (RHEMA) team reporting directly to the Associate Director, Reimbursement, Health Economics, and Market Access. This role will support reimbursement research and other consulting activities within the RHEMA team, with a focus on coverage, coding, and payment research; interviews with payers and providers; and preparation of client deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Research Medicare, Medicaid, and private-payer coverage, coding, and payment policies and amounts.
  • Develop expert knowledge in health care reimbursement systems to be a resource to colleagues and clients.
  • Be resourceful and tenacious in research assignments to obtain the needed information from online and telephone inquiries.
  • Prepare deliverables in Microsoft Office that summarize research and present implications and recommendations for clients.
  • Present research findings to colleagues and clients.
  • Manage projects through careful tracking of progress against budgets and timelines

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree with a strong academic background and a rich exposure to the humanities, the sciences, and the social sciences.
  • Strong research, analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines while working independently.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and a desire to develop an in-depth understanding of systems, business processes, and complex issues.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Knowledge of medical, anatomical, and physiological terminology preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and internet applications.
  • Strong professionalism with customer relationships.
  • Self-directed.
