Jeffrey Winterfield is a distinguished Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina, serving as the Hank and Laurel Greer Endowed Chair in Cardiac Electrophysiology since August 2016. Winterfield also holds the position of Section Chief of Cardiac Electrophysiology and serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine, in addition to directing the Ventricular Arrhythmia Service. Prior experiences include an Assistant Professor role in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Loyola University Health System from August 2011 to July 2016, and fellowships in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital from July 2005 to July 2011. Early career achievements include a postdoctoral fellowship at Howard Hughes Medical Institute/UT Southwestern Medical Center and training as an Intern/Resident in Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Educational qualifications include an M.D. with honors from The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, where Winterfield also participated as a HHMI-NIH Research Scholar, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from Amherst College.
