Tom Witmer

Tom Witmer is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in corporate IT and data analytics within the healthcare sector. Currently serving as the Corporate IT Leader and Chief Data Officer at the Medical University of South Carolina since July 2021, Tom oversees enterprise data and analytics services. Previous roles include Analytics Instructor and Course Developer at UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education, Vice President of Corporate Technology and Analytics Shared Services at Kaiser Permanente, and Executive Consultant for independent consulting. Tom's earlier career also includes positions as Chief Technology Officer at Firekey, CIO at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, and Marine Corps Officer. Tom holds an MS in Information Systems from George Mason University and a BS in Economics and Psychology from Vanderbilt University.
