Waldemar A. Carlo

Waldemar A. Carlo, M.D. was elected as a Director in June 1999. Dr. Carlo has served as Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Division of Neonatology at the University of Alabama School of Medicine since 1991. Dr. Carlo participates as a member of several medical and professional organizations. He has received numerous research awards and grants and has lectured extensively, both nationally and internationally. Additionally, Dr. Carlo is a recipient of the Apgar Award, the highest recognition given to neonatologists by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
