Jayan Senaratne

Jayan Senaratne is a skilled professional in bioprocessing with extensive experience in downstream process development. Currently serving as Director of Downstream Process Development at MeiraGTx since June 2019, Jayan has held various roles, including MSAT Process Development Lead and MSAT Scientist. Prior to this, a tenure at the Centre for Process Innovation Limited from October 2015 to June 2019 as Senior Scientist focused on leading the Downstream Processing team and managing resources for biopharmaceutical product development. Jayan's earlier experience includes the role of Associate Scientist II at MedImmune, where process optimization for monoclonal antibodies and antibody fusion proteins was a primary responsibility, and an internship at BP, where optimization opportunities for North Sea assets were identified. Jayan holds a Doctor of Engineering degree in Biochemical Engineering from UCL and a Master of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
