Paul Leary

Paul Leary is a seasoned professional in human resources and advocacy within the mental health sector. Currently serving as a Senior Advocate at Independent Mental Health Advocacy since August 2023, Paul leads a team focused on supporting individuals receiving or at risk of receiving compulsory mental health treatment. Previous experience includes roles as Human Resources Manager at Menzies School of Health Research and Ngwala Willumbong Aboriginal Co-Operation, and Manager Employee Relations at Neami National, where Paul provided leadership on complex employee relations matters. Paul also has a strong background in corporate services, having held positions such as GM Corporate Services at the Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture Inc and Director People & Culture at Children's Ground. Education credentials include a Graduate Certificate in Education (Management & Leadership) from RMIT University and a Diploma in Management from Swinburne University of Technology.
