Nelson Acosta

Nelson Acosta currently serves as Presidente Ejecutivo at Mercantil Banco since April 2021. Prior to this role, Nelson Acosta held the position of Presidente at Banco Exterior C.A. Banco Universal from May 2015 to April 2021, and served as Managing Director and Citi Country Officer for Venezuela at Citi from July 1998 to April 2015. Nelson Acosta’s extensive experience in the banking sector also includes roles as Country Treasurer & Markets Head, Vice President of Sales & Trading, and Corporate Finance Associate. Educational qualifications include a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management, a Master of Arts in Business/Managerial Economics, and an Engineer's Degree in Industrial Engineering, both from UCAB - Universidad Católica Andrés Bello.
